Discover the culinary delights of Downtown Smithfield at our new tour!
Spend the afternoon savoring tastes of pork, seafood, desserts, and more while uncovering the fascinating history of the pork and peanut industries that put Smithfield on the map.
Whether you’re a first time visitor or returning, experience Smithfield in a completely unique way. Sample delicious food from up to 6 establishments while learning from our knowledgeable (and fun!) local guides.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Enjoy views of the Pagan River and Victorian houses as you stroll Church Street
• Sample a variety of cuisines: Southern, British, Thai and more
• Hear from the talented creators behind the dishes
• Step inside historic locations as you learn their captivating past
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes – we’ll be standing during most of the tour.

Date/Time: Offered most 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month at 2pm
Walking: Less than 1 mile
Meeting Spot: Smithfield Station Restaurant, 415 South Church Street, Smithfield VA 23430. Parking is free at this location. Also, if you would like to park closer to the end of the tour route and walk down to Smithfield Station Restaurant for the beginning of the tour, you are welcome to park in the parking lot behind the Bank of Southside Virginia at 115 Main Street.
Tickets: $75 each
Ticket sales will cut off for each tour date the Wednesday before at noon.
Capacity: Each tour can accommodate a minimum of 6 guests and maximum of 10, ages 21+. If a tour date does not meet the minimum of 6 guests, guests will be given the option to either select a new date or receive a refund. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to experience this exciting tour together!

How much food is provided?
Small samples are provided by each of our food partners. We prefer to emphasize quality over quantity, but for most people, there is enough food for a full meal. You certainly won’t want to eat immediately before or after the tour!
What if it rains? What if it’s cold outside?
The tour goes on! We can eat inside at most places and recommend bringing an umbrella. If the weather is unsafe, the tour will be modified or cancelled and appropriate considerations regarding refunding/rescheduling will be taken.
What are the walking conditions like?
The tour route takes place mostly along sidewalks with some uneven areas. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable. However, if the tour is cancelled due to inclement weather or other circumstances, tickets will be refunded.
What happens if a tour date does not meet the minimum of 6 guests?
If a tour date does not meet the minimum of 6 guests, guests will be given the option to either select a new date or receive a refund. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to experience this exciting tour together!
Can I park closer to the end of the tour route?
Yes! If you would like to park near Main Street where the tour ends and walk down to join us at Smithfield Station for the beginning of the tour, you are welcome to park in the parking lot behind the Bank of Southside Virginia at 115 Main Street.
